Description
The Thick Tower (Turnul Gros) was built in the 16th century as part of Sibiu’s defensive system. The tower was designed to strengthen the city walls on their vulnerable northern side. It later gained a cultural role, hosting performances and rehearsals once the Thalia Hall was added to the structure.
