Abstract
Description
The Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral (Catedrala Ortodoxă Sfânta Treime) was built in the early 20th century and is one of Sibiu’s most important religious buildings. Built in the style of a Byzantine basilica, it is inspired by Hagia Sophia, with a large central dome, tall towers, and colourful interior paintings. The façade mixes brick and stone in warm tones, and the entrance is marked by a wide arch supported by columns. Inside, the cathedral is bright and richly decorated, with a large iconostasis and murals covering the walls and dome.
